Freegive members use the group at their own risk:
When posting to the group or participating in an exchange, please take reasonable measures to protect your safety and privacy. Be aware! It is up to each individual member of a Freegive group when arranging for pickup of the item being given away to be appropriately aware of the potential risk of having "a stranger" come to your home to pick something up. The Freegive and member groups, assume no responsibility for this risk. It's wise to arrange for a drop-off at a public place (shopping area, library, etc.); or if you do give a member your address, to leave the item on the porch without mentioning whether or not you'll be home. If you, for example, are a single woman living alone, you may want to meet in a public place during the day to exchange the item, or have somebody with you at home, so it doesn't appear that you live alone.
Protecting your privacy:
- We don't share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Freegive does not knowingly collect any information from persons under the age of 13. If freegive learns that a posting is by a person under the age of 13, freegive will remove that post.
- We are not responsible for, nor have any control over, the privacy policies of those third party websites, and encourage all users to read the privacy policies of each and every website visited.
Using Information from Freegive:
You may use personal information gathered from Freegive only to follow up with another user about a specific posting, not to send spam or collect personal information from someone who hasn't agreed to that.
We make no guarantees:
Security. We use many tools to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure, but as you probably know, nothing's perfect, so we make no guarantees.
