What do I do if I go away on holiday? / I'm getting too many emails

If your going to be away and you don’t want to get emails from members of your local Freegive group? you can change your message delivery settings to special notices, then you will stop getting emails from members of the group. You can change your settings back to either individual messages or daily digest when you get back.

For each group you belong to, you have the option to control the frequency of email message delivery:

Individual Emails (normal) Option:
Messages are delivered one at a time to your email inbox. This is the best option if you want to keep up on the latest posts immediately.

Daily Digest Option:
Messages are delivered in batches of 15 or daily, whichever comes sooner. This is the best option if you want to receive fewer mail messages and don't need up-to-the minute posts in your inbox.

No Email Option:
The best option to choose if you prefer to only read messages on the web. Also useful if you need to temporarily put message delivery on hold, for example while you’re on vacation.

Special Notices Option:
This option is similar to No Email because you won’t receive normal group messages. However, you will receive Special Notices sent by the group's moderator. This is a good option if you want to pass on day-to-day discussion for very busy groups but do want to receive important updates from the group moderator.

To change your message delivery via email:

Regardless of whether you have joined via the web or have an email only account you can use these methods to change your message delivery settings.

• To switch to normal (individual messages) mode send a blank email to: groupname-normal@yahoogroups.com
• To switch to digest mode send a blank email to: groupname-digest@yahoogroups.com
• To switch to no-mail mode send a blank email to: groupname-nomail@yahoogroups.com
